House interior, Amsterdam
The residents of a large, new family apartment in Amsterdam West want to divide their oversized living space and make it more personal. We designed a central piece of furniture for them – a so-called room divider. In this room divider – a cabinet with transparent parts, closed parts and built-in lighting – Precious objects can be housed or displayed. The element separates the large living space into an eat-in kitchen and a living room. Because the cupboard has an irregular composition, both large and small objects can find a place in it. In this way, the furniture contributes to the personalization of the new-build apartment.
In addition to art objects, the furniture also includes practical items such as a television and a sound system. On the kitchen side, the furniture provides space for storing crockery and cutlery.
We have also designed other fixed furniture elements in the interior, in which books, shoes and other utensils can be stored.
