Schovenhorst Visitor Center, Putten
The visitor center is located in an open space in a former tree nursery. As a literal highlight, there is a large skylight that frames the view of the crown of a large beech tree.
Our starting point for this project with a special location and a small budget was to make as much use as possible of existing elements. The existing open space at the tree nursery offers visitors sufficient distance from the surrounding trees to observe them in perspective. Small trees have been placed inside the nursery that are experienced as objects rather than views. The experience of this garden, the light between the trees and the change of the seasons is enhanced in our design. A large wooden sliding door offers a view back into the garden.
