24-hour sheltered housing facility, Amsterdam
Temp.architecture created the design for the 24-hour facility Weespertrekvaart Midden. The facility consists of 24 units for sheltered housing. Protected housing is available for people with diagnosed psychiatric and/or addiction problems, who cannot live without 24-hour supervision for a long period of time due to their problems.
This is a group with very limited opportunities for independent living. The target group is not self-reliant. Some of the residents are forced to use the facility for a long period of time. That is why the residence must resemble a normal living situation as much as possible.
The facility consists of 32 independent residential units (studios) with their own shower, toilet and cooking facilities with a functional layout and design. The 24-hour facility is part of the new construction on plot 2 of the Weespertrekvaart Midden development, where Temp. also provides the design of mid-segment rental properties and commercial spaces. The 24-hour facility will also make use of the nature-inclusive roof garden and, like the rest of the plot, will have vegetated facades.
